The Kamado barbecue protective cover is an essential accessory to protect your barbecue from rain, dust, wind, dirt and bad weather. It keeps your kamado clean and better preserved when left outdoors, on a patio, in a garden or under a shelter.
For a novice user, this cover simply serves to cover the kamado barbecue when not in use. It helps protect the exterior ceramic, metal parts, handles, hinges, and accessories from moisture and outdoor deposits. It's a simple, but very useful accessory to extend the life of the barbecue.
Made of Oxford fabric, this cover offers protection suitable for outdoor use. Its shape is designed to cover the kamado from top to bottom, including the upper chimney, to limit exposure to rain, dust, and sun rays.
What is a kamado protective cover used for?
The protective cover allows you to:
- protect the kamado barbecue from rain;
- limit exposure to humidity;
- prevent dust and dirt from accumulating;
- protect metal parts from outdoor wear;
- keep the barbecue cleaner between uses;
- preserve the ceramic, handles, and accessories;
- protect the kamado when it remains outdoors;
- extend the barbecue's lifespan.
How to use the protective cover?
Always wait until your kamado barbecue is completely cool before putting on the cover. Never cover a still warm or hot barbecue.
Once the kamado has cooled, place the cover from the top, covering the chimney first, then gradually lower it to the base of the barbecue. Then adjust the cover so that it fully covers the entire appliance.
Before a new cooking session, simply remove the cover and store it in a dry place. If it is damp after rain, let it dry before folding it to limit bad odors and retained moisture.

Questions before choosing your kamado?
A kamado is much more than just a barbecue. Thanks to its ceramic bowl and excellent heat retention, it can be used for grilling, searing, smoking, roasting, slow cooking, and even making pizzas or bread. It can be used for quick high-temperature cooking as well as long, slow cooking.
For best results, use natural lump charcoal, without additives or chemical fire starters. This type of charcoal provides better combustion, produces less ash, and allows for better temperature control. Avoid classic briquettes, which are often less suitable for kamado cooking.
Yes, temperature control is achieved using the vents located at the top and bottom of the kamado. By opening or closing these air inlets, you adjust the temperature according to the desired cooking type: low temperature for smoking, medium heat for roasting, or very high temperature for searing meat or cooking pizza. After a few uses, adjusting becomes very simple.
The choice depends on the number of people you regularly cook for and the space you have available.
To help you choose:
- 15 inches: ideal for up to 6 people
- 18 inches: 39 cm grate — ideal for 6 to 8 people
- 21 inches: 47 cm grate — ideal for 8 to 10 people
- 23 inches: 50 cm grate — ideal for 10 to 12 people
- 25 inches: 55 cm grate — ideal for 12 to 16 people
For typical family use, a 15 or 18-inch model is usually sufficient. To host regularly or cook large cuts of meat, opt for a 21-inch model or larger.
Yes, maintenance is very simple. Just heat the kamado to a high temperature for a few minutes to burn off cooking residues, then scrub the grill with our cleaning brush. Once the ashes have cooled, all that remains is to regularly remove them to keep your kamado clean and ready for use.
Lighting is quick and easy. Place natural charcoal in the basin, add a natural firelighter, then open the top and bottom vents to allow air to circulate. Once the charcoal is well lit, close the lid and adjust the vents to reach the desired temperature.
The kamado's ceramic is guaranteed for 20 years, a testament to its strength and durable design. This barbecue is designed to accompany you for many years, performing as well for cooking as it is elegant on a patio or in a garden.
