Classic round cast iron casserole – Matt Black · Mamie Cocottes
Rediscover traditional cooking with this Mamie Cocottes classic round casserole: 26 cm, 5.1 L and approximately 6 servings, depending on portions. Cast iron stores heat and releases it gradually for family stews and gentle, slow cooking.
The interior is unenameled cast iron. A seasoning layer develops with use; preserve it to help reduce sticking and protect the cooking surface.
This specification applies to the 26 cm model. The 20, 22, 24 and 28 cm sizes in the classic range have enamelled interiors.
For slow-cooked dishes to share
Designed for slow and low cooking, this casserole dish is perfect for elevating the great classics of home cooking: beef bourguignon, veal blanquette, pot-au-feu, lentil stew, crusty bread baked in a Dutch oven, or even a simple roast chicken that stays succulent thanks to its self-basting lid, ideal for locking in juices and flavour.
Steam condenses beneath the textured lid and falls back onto the food in droplets. This natural self-basting helps keep dishes juicy and reduces the need to lift the lid during cooking.
All hobs, induction and oven
Suitable for all hobs, including induction, and the oven up to 250 °C. The stainless steel knob and wide handles make it practical for cooking and serving. Always use oven gloves when handling the hot casserole, lid or knob.
