Enamelled cast iron bread oven – Cherry Red · Mamie Cocottes
Bring the pleasure of homemade bread to your kitchen with this Mamie Cocottes enamelled cast iron bread oven. Its 26 cm / 2 L format combines a domed lid with a round base to accompany everyday loaves, seeded bread and sourdough recipes.
Bake homemade and sourdough bread
The closed cloche helps retain steam released by the dough at the start of baking. This moist environment supports the loaf as it rises. Depending on your recipe, finish baking without the lid to encourage a golden crust. Results depend on the dough, temperature and baking time.
A cast iron bread cloche for gentle, even heat
Cast iron stores heat and releases it gradually around the bread. The enamelled surface is easy to maintain and needs no seasoning. Adapt the quantity of dough to the 2 L capacity and leave enough space for it to expand.
Oven up to 250 °C
Suitable for all hobs, including induction, gas, electric and ceramic. In the oven, never exceed 250 °C: this is the limit of the lid knob. Follow a recipe compatible with that maximum, increase heat gradually and avoid overheating the empty cookware. Use oven gloves and a heatproof surface.
